This legal notice identifies the website operator and sets the boundaries between general public information, an initial enquiry and a formally accepted criminal-law engagement.
1. Operator details
CriminalLawyers.ge is operated by Assio Lex and Associates LLC, a Georgian limited liability company with company identification number 400470566. Registered address: Erosi Manjgaladze Street N 75A, Nadzaladevi District, 0112 Tbilisi, Georgia. General email: info@criminallawyers.ge.
2. Independent legal-services website
This is a private legal-services website. It is not a court, police unit, prosecutor, ministry, consulate, registry or international organisation. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Georgia, the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance Investigation Service, the State Security Service, INTERPOL or any other public authority. Use of a public body's name, law or external link is for identification and legal information only.
The website cannot issue or verify an arrest warrant, criminal record, court decision, border restriction, wanted-person notice or INTERPOL record. Those matters require the competent official channel and, where appropriate, a lawyer acting on a properly accepted instruction.
3. General information is not case-specific advice
Website content is educational and describes recurring issues in Georgian criminal law, procedure, investigations and related fields. It is not a substitute for advice based on the complete file. A single fact—procedural status, date, intent, value, injury, aggravating feature, territorial link or source of evidence—can change the possible offence, defence, forum, deadline and recommended step.
Articles of the Criminal Code or Criminal Procedure Code mentioned on a page are potential reference points, not a definitive qualification. Investigators, prosecutors and courts may apply a different article, and qualification can change as facts and evidence develop or following legal submissions. A person is presumed innocent unless guilt is established by a final judgment under the applicable legal standard.
4. Currency, translations and primary sources
We aim to use current consolidated legislation and official sources, but laws, institutional responsibilities and practice can change without a simultaneous website update. An “updated” date records an editorial review; it is not a warranty that no amendment, judgment or administrative change occurred later that day.
Where the Georgian and English text differ, the official Georgian legislation and authoritative interpretation must be checked. English translations may lag later amendments. Links to Matsne and other official sources are provided so the current text can be reviewed, but an external website controls its own content and availability.
5. No automatic lawyer–client relationship
Viewing the website, telephoning, sending a form or emailing the firm does not by itself appoint a lawyer, create a lawyer–client relationship, confirm availability or oblige the firm to take action. Before representation is accepted, the relevant lawyer must be able to complete conflict and identity checks, understand who the client is, confirm authority, agree the scope and fee, and complete the form of appointment or engagement required for the proceeding.
Do not assume that a deadline, hearing, interview or detention response is being handled until acceptance is expressly confirmed. If a person is in immediate physical danger, call the competent emergency service. Website and email channels should not be treated as a guaranteed 24-hour emergency dispatch system.
6. Lawyers, profiles and professional status
Criminal representation in Georgian proceedings is undertaken by a lawyer who is entitled to perform the relevant function under current Georgian law and professional rules. The identity of the responsible lawyer, scope of work and procedural authority are determined in the accepted engagement and required procedural documentation. A reference to the operator, a practice area or a future team profile does not replace verification of the individual lawyer responsible for a particular matter.
7. Confidentiality and professional secrecy
Georgian lawyers are subject to professional-secrecy and confidentiality duties, including duties described in the Law of Georgia on Advocates. Nonetheless, an unsolicited first message should contain only the information needed to identify the parties, urgency and broad nature of the issue. Do not send passwords, access codes, entire device exports or unnecessary sensitive documents before a secure channel and the need for the material are confirmed.
Legal privilege, confidentiality and admissibility depend on the relationship, purpose, participants and applicable law. Adding a confidentiality label to a message does not by itself create privilege or require acceptance of the matter. See the Privacy Policy for information about the processing of enquiry and matter data.
8. No prediction or guarantee of outcome
Past experience, a legal assessment, an illustrative scenario or a discussion of possible remedies cannot guarantee dismissal, acquittal, release, a particular sentence, recovery of assets, removal of a notice or any other result. Outcomes depend on law, evidence, procedural decisions, cooperation of third parties and the independent decisions of authorities and courts.
9. Responsible use of the website
You may use the website for lawful personal or professional information. You must not attempt to interfere with its operation, bypass security, introduce malicious code, scrape it in a way that harms availability, impersonate another person, submit knowingly false contact details or use its content to facilitate unlawful conduct.
Nothing on the website encourages destruction, concealment or alteration of evidence; evasion of a lawful order; intimidation of a witness; unauthorised access to data; or communication that breaches a court, bail, protective or confidentiality restriction. A person facing an urgent procedural issue should obtain individual advice before acting.
10. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise identified, the website's original text, structure, branding and design are owned by or licensed to the operator. You may print or save a reasonable extract for personal reference and share an ordinary page link. Substantial reproduction, commercial republication, removal of attribution or presentation of the content as another firm's work requires prior written permission. Official legislation and third-party material remain subject to their own legal status and terms.
11. External links and third-party services
External links are offered for convenience and source verification. We do not control the continued availability, security, accuracy or privacy practices of an external site and do not endorse every statement or service found there. Users should verify that they are on the correct official domain before entering personal data or relying on a document.
12. Availability and limitation
We work to keep the website accurate and available, but it may be interrupted, delayed or contain an error. To the extent permitted by mandatory law, the operator is not responsible for a decision made solely from general website content, an external site, a translation lag, a service interruption or unauthorised third-party conduct. Nothing in this notice excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits duties arising under an accepted legal-services engagement.
13. Governing framework and questions
This notice and use of the website are governed by Georgian law, subject to any mandatory consumer, data-protection, professional or jurisdictional rule that applies. The terms of an accepted legal-services engagement take priority for that engagement where they lawfully differ from this general notice.
